Lead CNC Machinist/Programmer

ESP Valve is hiring a Lead CNC Machinist/Programmer for our Control Valve shop in Gonzales, Louisiana.

We are looking for someone with strong CNC machining and programming experience who can help us continue building out our CNC capabilities. Our shop includes a new CNC 4-axis mill and a CNC lathe with live tooling.

This position will involve programming, setup, and operation of CNC equipment, along with blueprint reading, reverse engineering parts, and producing precision components for industrial valve repair and service work.

All work is done in our new air-conditioned shop in Gonzales. This is a full-time position with plenty of overtime available. ESP Valve offers full benefits and has been a family-owned company for more than 38 years.

Pay starts at $40/hour, depending on experience.

Responsibilities

  • Program, set up, and operate CNC mills and lathes
  • Work with Fanuc controls
  • Machine precision parts according to drawings, specs, or reverse-engineered samples
  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Use precision measuring tools including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and related instruments
  • Select appropriate tooling for machining work
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and help keep equipment running properly
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Work with the shop team to improve accuracy, quality, and turnaround time

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of CNC machining experience
  • Experience with 4-axis machining preferred
  • Strong CNC programming and setup experience
  • Experience operating CNC mills and lathes
  • Knowledge of tooling, feeds, speeds, and machining processes
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
